Dr. Winojith Sanjeewa

Dr. Winojith Sanjeewa is an award‑winning Lecturer in Marketing at York St John University, UK, where he also serves as Course Leader for Events and Experience Management BA (Hons). He specialises in equality, diversity, inclusion, and the lived experiences that shape organisational culture, with a research focus on LGBTQ+ communities, diaspora identities, and inclusive leadership.

Sanjeewa is widely recognised for his excellence in teaching and student support. He has received several major university honours, including Most Supportive Staff Member of the Year, the Outstanding Feedback Award, the Inspirational Staff Member Award, and the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. These accolades reflect his outstanding commitment to creating inclusive, supportive, and transformative learning environments.

In addition to his teaching and research, he serves as Athena Swan Co‑Institutional Lead and EDI Co‑Lead at York Business School, where he contributes strategically to advancing gender equality and inclusive practice across the institution.

Sanjeewa is an international keynote speaker, regularly invited to share his expertise, lived experience, and creative methodologies with global audiences. His work blends academic insight with community‑based, culturally grounded, and creative approaches, including projects on identity, heritage, mental health, and inclusive event spaces.
